SITE UPDATE LOG

Nov 2, 2014:
Added my weather station to the main menu; moved Scottish Reference and family genealogy data from ktb to willsfamily.info. No genealogical data was changed.

Jan 1, 2006:
Added some Ancestry.com links to the 13300 ScotRef page, added the ancestry.com pdf census forms to each of the census tables and verified all other links. Also reformatted the surname census file and made some other minor tweaks. No data was changed.

Nov 25, 2005:
Corrected the 1851 second filming census list for Killelan (#565) thanks to an email from Jim Baird who wrote on Feb 3, 2005 (yes, I've been that slow in updating the site!):
Hi David,
Thank you for your excellent Scottish Reference pages. I write to correct one small error in relation to the Scotland 1851 Census, second filming.
At the bottom of the page is a list of parishes which are stated not to be included in the above filming, and for Renfrewshire, Parish No. 565, Killellan, is shown in that list. In both 1841 and 1851, Parish 565 is listed as "Houston & Killellan", and I can assure you that indeed it is included in the 1851 second filming, on film 1042359 along with Eastwood (562) and Erskine (563).
I hope you will be able to incorporate this small correction without too much disruption. If you would like further information or evidence, I'll be only too happy to help. Keep up the good work, Kind regards

May 14, 2004:
Removed all advertising links from the 13300 ScotRef page and verified all other links. Also Updated the index.htm file to correct the link to the world wide wills site.

July 5, 2003:
Removed the Wills Get-Together text. Added 23 new surname WILLS death certificate transcriptions. Updated the Partial tree page to reflect the new death certs. Added Julia Welsh to the "other researchers" page.

November 9, 2002:
Thanks to an email from Gavin, the 1891 census film list incorrectly listed Seafield (parish 167) as belonging to Aberdeen instead of Banff. Also discovered that the 'missing' parish list at the bottom of the 1951 2nd filming list incorrectly listed Seafield as belonging to Moray! Thanks for letting me know.

August 10, 2002:
Added 24 more images (Zemke's -let me know if you read German- and Wills' births/marriages/poorhouse applications) to my family pages.

August 8, 2002:
Thanks to an email from Margaret, the parish number in the Parish List for Old Kilpatrick, Dumbarton has been corrected from 510 to 501. I've also changed all descriptions for 'New Kilpatrick' to 'New Kilpatrick (or East)' and the description for 'Old Kilpatrick' to 'Old Kilpatrick (or West)' as they are listed on my source material. Both are due to oversights on my part. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. Nice people, these.

July 31, 2002:
Thanks to an email from Meg, the film number for Wigtown marriages, 1871 has been corrected from 224,780 to 224,580. Thanks for taking the time to let me know AND for finding the correct number. What a cool chick!

July 24, 2002:
Thanks to an email from Alison, St. Cuthberts (Edinburgh) was found missing altogether and so has been added to the parish lists as 685/2. There does seem to be a little conflict though, as the church records indicate 685 and the census indicates 685/2. Thanks for letting me know.

July 23, 2002:
No data changes. Added link to 'WILLS Pedigree Get-Together' planned for March 9, 2003 in Australia to surname Wills main page. Revised Genealogy.com advertisement and added Ancestry.com advertisement on the main Scottish Reference page. (If you have reason to make a purchase at either perhaps you would consider doing it through the links on my site - resulting in a small commission for me - as a way of saying thank you.)

May 31, 2002:
No data changes. Added links to NARA and Ellis Island sites. Added Genealogy.com advertising to the main Scottish Reference page. (If you have reason to make a purchase at genealogy.com perhaps you would consider doing it through the links on my site - resulting in a small commission for me - as a way of saying thank you.) Also removed my research-for-hire page.

May 6, 2002:
Changes to the Surname WILLS section only. Several new additions to WILLS Deaths, and significant changes to the Partial Tree File.

Apr 22, 2002:
Strictly format and link changes, no data changes. Added a link to the Complete Parish List to the Main Scottish Reference Page (the page has always been there, I just didn't have a link to it on the main page). Made format improvements to the Complete Parish List. Improved the 'shire' note on the County List.

Apr 7, 2002:
Added a cross-indexed Scottish county list to the scotref pages. Updated my index page to include my genealogical research services page.

Apr 2, 2002:
Added my own genealogical research services page.

Mar 17, 2002:
Added 16 more scanned documents to the family pages.

Mar 12, 2002:
Added first group of 15 scanned documents to the family pages. Also created an "Image Index" page.

Feb 3, 2002:
Thanks to an email from Bill, Renfrew County marriages film 363158 covering parishes 559-575 was erroneously listed as 1869 where it should be 1870. Thanks for letting me know.

Nov 24, 2001:
Thanks to an email from Margaret I have corrected the parish number of the parish of AYR from 587 to 578 in both the complete parish list and in the Ayrshire parish list. Thanks Margaret.

Sep 16, 2001:
Thanks to an email from Lorraine I have corrected the spelling of the parish Planation to Plantation. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.

Feb 22, 2001:
Based on a question from Margaret and a little research, in the Parish Number List, I have corrected the Parish Number and spelling of Kirkonnel, 804 to Kirkconnel, 834. As an additional result, I have added the parish of St. Boswell, number 804 in Roxburgh to the parish number lists. Now the village of Lessudden and the parish of St. Boswell both have the parish number of 804.

Nov 18, 2000:
Upon advice from ecunningham, I have corrected the Civil Birth, Marriage, Death Film numbers for Roxburgh. The corrected line reads: 1873 (Births): 780 - 811 300,407; (Marriages): 780 - 811 300,198; (Deaths): 780 - 811 300,292

Aug 14, 2000:
Okay, it's been a 'little' more than a few months (see below) but I have finally(!) acquired and added the remaining OPR Death records. These added records cover the entire counties of: ORKNEY, NAIRN, MORAY (ELGIN) and PEEBLES. Also added were the remaining parish numbers 686 through 701 of MIDLOTHIAN. Some data has been added for PERTH but it appears to be incomplete. I will investigate and post the results here.

May 7, 1999:
Added the following correction to the Birth, Marriage, and Death tables (13302-bmdtables.htm): It's been brought to my attention that there are more OPR Death records available than listed here in my tables. I won't be able to correct the problem for a few months so here's what you can do in the meantime. If the county or parish you're looking for in my list says "No Record" or is simply blank you'll need to go to your FHC and use the Locality Fiche to see what, if any, death records exist.

Apr 25, 1999: I replaced the 13300 Scottish Reference page with a revised one. The new one includes a link to the Root Surname Links and Cyndi's Page. I also replaced the link to the Currency Conversion page at Datastream (it hasn't worked since they redid their site) with a new link to the PACIFIC Rate Service at the University of British Columbia. Also added a link to the new LDS Family Search site. No other pages were changed.

Jan 3, 1999: Happy New Year! Well that was an experiment in frustration. All the files that I had moved to Geocities (see entry below) have been moved back to my ISP's server. It appears too many people had problems with the Geocities advertising scripts or html code that Geocities required in my files. In moving them back, though, I've put them in a new directory so you will STILL have to update your links again. None of the data has changed in any of the files though. Sorry about that. Hope the New Year is a good one for you.

Nov 28-29, 1998: Moved all the Scottish Reference and Surname Wills files to: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Garden/1311/index.html
as I've started to run out of space for my personal page. Fixed the incorrect listing of the Ayrshire Death registry film numbers (thanks to ecunningham). Corrected the spelling of Loudoun parish in all files (thanks to Helen Curtis). Corrected the county name for Dysart parish in the surname marriages files (thanks to Grant Buttars). Modified the main page to make it a little cleaner. Brightened the thistle's colors. ADDED to the Surname Wills Menu page a link containing messages of other researches working the surname WILLS throughout the British Isles. ADDED a link to the Roots Surname List.

Oct 10, 1998: Added a link to a file containing notes about Phillip Bohmer and Anna DeWitt.

Aug 28, 1998: Fixed the bookmark problem on the surname and fullname database file. Added some large passages and some tree info from Vera Van LydeGraff's 1964 "Böhmer Book" to the Wilhelm Böhmer file and the Phillip Böhmer and Anna DeWitt files. More to come...

Aug 9, 1998: Completely redesigned my family pages; added considerably more material to my maternal families; added new surname link index that includes all individual names that occur in my family.

July 12, 1998: Redesigned the Scottish Reference Material pages because they had gotten out of control and looked horrible! There is no data change with this redesign! Simply a rearrangement. We still have to add the rest of the OPR Death and Burial tables.

July 10, 1998: Notified that my page won a Scottish Pride Award

July 2, 1998: Bob O'Hara is an independent researcher working at the Public Record Office in London. He has access to muster lists, medal rolls, regimental histories etc from about 1660 for the Royal Scots and 1739 for the Black Watch and of course all other Scottish regiments up to WW1, including some Militia units. He will also research Royal and Merchant Navy, Colonial and Foreign Offices as well as Coastguards, Royal Marines etc. For more information visit:-http://www.users.dircon.co.uk/~searcher/

June 1, 1998: Thanks to George Purvis for turning me on to "Kirstie Mackay Holt"! She will do research at the New Register House in Scotland for considerably less money than the GRO. Check it out here! An excelent value!!!

June 1, 1998: Many people have asked how many US Dollars are in a British Pound so here is a link to Datastream's currency conversion table. They have rates effective the previous business day. Go to the bottom of the table and the fifth column over lists how many US Dollars are in one British Pound as of the date listed in the second column.

May 9, 1998: OPR Burial, Death and Mortcloth Dues are now available!

April 6, 1998: GRO Scottish Records Now ON-Line! Also... OPR Mortcloth and Death Record Film Numbers Coming Here Soon...
